Experienced ICU RN needed for a rewarding travel nursing assignment in Tuscaloosa, AL. Join a cardiac surgical ICU/stepdown team caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures.

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; holidays as required
- Floating: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
- Setting: On-site, patient-facing critical care assignment
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU, ICU, or closely related critical care experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
- Current AHA NIH certification required
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to work in solid navy scrubs
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and confidence in a high-acuity cardiac care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care nursing to cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and post-surgical patients in the ICU and stepdown setting
- Monitor patients using complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and advanced critical care assessment skills
- Support safe, patient-centered recovery following surgical procedures
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary cardiovascular care team to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Maintain professionalism, clinical accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care needs
- Work scheduled weekends and holidays as required by the assignment
