Job Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience required
- Outpatient nursing and/or oncology nursing experience preferred
- Epic experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with ports, central lines, IV therapy, and outpatient oncology care preferred
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of approximately 12
- ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing education required
- Ability to provide two professional references, including one from a manager, director, or other formal leader
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions only
- Compliance and fingerprinting requirements must be completed promptly after offer
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients in an outpatient oncology clinic
- Administer treatments, medications, and chemotherapy-related care as appropriate
- Support patients undergoing biopsies and other in-clinic procedures
- Perform and assist with port access, central line care, IV starts, blood draws, and related nursing tasks
- Monitor patient status, recognize abnormal findings, and communicate concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, infusion staff, and interdisciplinary support teams to coordinate care
- Educate and support patients and families throughout their outpatient treatment journey
- Follow safety, infection control, and chemotherapy handling protocols
