• Call Requirements: 10-12 call segments per month

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
• ACLS and BLS required
• 2 years of vascular, open heart, and/or endovascular surgical experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Completion of an OR internship or perioperative training preferred
• Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia exam
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, operating room workflow, and cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor condition before, during, and after procedures
• Assist the surgical team in maintaining a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment
• Anticipate surgical team needs, prepare supplies, and support instrumentation and equipment use
• Document patient care accurately and consistently throughout the surgical experience
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to support optimal patient outcomes
• Assist with patient positioning, gowning and draping, and transport as needed
• Follow aseptic technique and infection prevention practices at all times
• Respond calmly and effectively to changing clinical needs in a high-acuity surgical setting
