Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- At least 1 year of registered nurse experience required
- Labor & Delivery, OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred
- BLS required or ability to obtain from an approved source before direct patient care
- NRP preferred at hire; must obtain within 3 months of hire
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification preferred for fetal strip interpretation
- Strong communication, assessment, and teamwork skills
- Ability to provide safe care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to patients in labor, delivery, postpartum, and women's health settings
- Complete patient assessments, identify care needs, and develop individualized nursing plans
- Monitor fetal and maternal status, including electronic fetal monitoring and labor progression
- Administer medications and interventions safely and in accordance with nursing standards
- Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and discharge teaching
- Respond to obstetric emergencies with confidence, professionalism, and teamwork
- Collaborate with physicians, care teams, and support services to coordinate excellent outcomes
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and a positive care experience
