Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or acute care nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Strong assessment skills for identifying mental health, substance use, and behavioral concerns
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in crisis situations
• Excellent therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills
• Comfortable working in a team-based, fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough psychiatric and physical assessments for patients with behavioral health needs
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention support, including de-escalation and safety-focused interventions
• Monitor patients for changes in mental status, vital signs, and medication response
• Use therapeutic communication to build rapport and support positive patient outcomes
• Document accurately in Meditech and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Support a safe, respectful, and compassionate healing environment for patients and staff
