Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or acute care nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- CPI certification required
- Strong assessment skills for identifying mental health, substance use, and behavioral concerns
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in crisis situations
- Excellent therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills
- Comfortable working in a team-based, fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough psychiatric and physical assessments for patients with behavioral health needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
- Provide crisis intervention support, including de-escalation and safety-focused interventions
- Monitor patients for changes in mental status, vital signs, and medication response
- Use therapeutic communication to build rapport and support positive patient outcomes
- Document accurately in Meditech and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Support a safe, respectful, and compassionate healing environment for patients and staff
