Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Handle With Care (HWC) certification or willingness to complete on site
- CPR certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- Prior experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, or a related mental health setting is preferred
- Experience supporting patients with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, and psychiatric conditions strongly preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care to adults in a behavioral health setting
- Perform psychiatric assessments and support the intake process for mental health patients
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Use de-escalation skills and crisis-prevention techniques to promote a therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized treatment plans
- Document patient care clearly and accurately according to facility standards
- Maintain a professional, calm presence while working with a diverse behavioral health population
