Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Pediatrics experience preferred
• ACLS upon hire, or active BLS with AHA ACLS completed within 60 days of hire
• PALS preferred
• Strong professional communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Ability to demonstrate tact, empathy, diplomacy, flexibility, and initiative

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care goals
• Provide safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with standards of practice, protocols, and hospital policies
• Deliver compassionate bedside care that promotes dignity, comfort, and positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families based on individual needs, readiness to learn, and discharge planning requirements
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions appropriately
• Prioritize patient care needs and respond quickly to changes in condition or emergencies
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support continuity of care
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely and in alignment with provider orders and policy
• Monitor pain, cardiac rhythms, and surgical patient progress as needed
• Set up and troubleshoot relevant equipment such as feeding pumps, chest tubes, drains, and traction devices
• Support a positive work environment and contribute to team learning and professional growth
