Job Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license
- Current CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Ability to float to Step-Down ICU as needed
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Education verification required
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality care for ICU and Step-Down ICU patients
- Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards and physician orders
- Assess patients, develop individualized plans of care, and update interventions as needed
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
- Support unit performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Use critical thinking to escalate concerns appropriately and promote excellent patient outcomes
