  • Location: Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
  • At least 1 year of travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending licensure may be accepted for submittal
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred/required per unit needs
  • Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
  • IV start skills required
  • Telemetry nursing experience preferred
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital setting and floating within the facility as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
  • Monitor telemetry patients and respond to changes in cardiac rhythms and patient condition
  • Manage a varied patient population including GI conditions, anemia/blood loss, infections, renal patients, and post-surgical GI cases
  • Perform IV starts, medication administration, and comprehensive bedside nursing care
  • Support patients requiring respiratory therapies, wound care, heparin protocols, and blood product administration
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV support, and rapid response resources
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow SBAR communication standards
  • Adapt to fluctuating census and maintain quality care in a high-turnover healthcare environment
