Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse
• Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Unit: 36-bed pulmonary/telemetry unit
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours per week; 48 hours per week may also be available
• Shift Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays as required
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• EMR: Meditech
• Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Guaranteed Hours: 36

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a compact state license
• No temporary licenses accepted
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred; 18 months may be considered with strong experience
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Strong clinical skills in general medicine and respiratory care
• Ability to work in a patient-facing acute care environment
• Comfortable floating to other units and hospitals as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg Telemetry nursing care to patients with respiratory and medical conditions
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy teams
• Deliver compassionate bedside care and support patients and families throughout the care plan
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and support safe, efficient patient throughput
• Manage a 6:1 patient ratio while prioritizing quality, safety, and patient outcomes
• Float to other units and hospitals when assigned
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required
