Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown RN / Registered Nurse
• Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
• Setting: Acute care cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Floating: May float to MedSurg/Tele units as needed
• Charting System: EPIC
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Heparin, and Nitro
• Comfort working with higher-acuity cardiac patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Must be able to follow unit policies and maintain professional appearance standards

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage and titrate ordered cardiac drips safely and accurately
• Care for patients with conditions such as AMI, post-PCI, respiratory failure, chest tubes, and pacemakers
• Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, CNAs, and the broader healthcare team to support safe patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EPIC
• Float to other MedSurg/Tele areas when needed based on staffing needs
• Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach on every shift
