Overview
This 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment in a Mother/Baby, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery unit offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care to postpartum patients, high-risk antepartum patients, and newborns. Nurses in this role should be confident, adaptable, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced Texas healthcare setting with rotating weekends and 12-hour night shifts.
Job Details
- Position: Mother-Baby Registered Nurse (RN)
- Setting: Postpartum / Mother-Baby / Newborn Nursery
- Location: San Antonio, TX 78258 (Stone Oak area)
- Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Pattern: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; rotating weekends
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350 - $1,420
- Openings: 2
- Floating: May float as needed
- Documentation Systems: Meditech, CPN
Job Requirements
- Active Texas RN license required; temporary license will not be accepted
- NRP certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital nursing experience required
- Experience caring for high-risk antepartum patients and postpartum recoveries
- Newborn nursery experience required
- Experience with Meditech preferred
- Advanced fetal monitoring experience is a plus
- RNC-OB certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to postpartum and mother/baby patients
- Support high-risk antepartum patients and postpartum recoveries
- Deliver skilled newborn nursery nursing care
- Perform IV placement as needed
- Document patient care accurately in clinical systems
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes
- Adapt to rotating weekends and floating needs within the care environment
- Maintain a professional, patient-focused presence throughout the travel assignment
