NICU RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; temporary license will not be accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital or specialty nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• STABLE certification required
• Experience caring for infants requiring CPAP or mechanical ventilation
• Experience with central lines and neonatal monitoring
• Stabilization experience and attendance at deliveries
• Developmental care experience preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating weekends and float to the newborn nursery as needed

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU
• Monitor infants using bedside equipment and neonatal care technology
• Support infants requiring CPAP, ventilation, central line management, and stabilization
• Assist with deliveries, line placement, circumcision, and intubation
• Deliver family-centered care with compassion, professionalism, and clinical expertise
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary neonatal care team and step into Charge RN responsibilities when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards, policies, and patient safety practices
• Float to the newborn nursery when assigned
