- Setting: Mixed medical-surgical, cardiac, and neuroscience ICU in a Level II trauma center
- Unit Highlights: 38 beds, advanced critical care technology, and a collaborative ICU team
ICU RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care ICU hospital experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification
- Ability to work in a high-acuity ICU setting with a 2:1 ratio, and 1:1 when patient acuity requires
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative team mindset
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- CVICU or CTICU experience preferred, especially with immediate post-op open-heart patients
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery ICU patients
- Care for post-operative open-heart patients and other complex critical care cases
- Support patients requiring VV and VA ECMO, balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT
- Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertion, and arterial/central line insertions
- Manage airway care and frequent drip titrations
- Monitor patients closely using critical care equipment and communicate effectively with the care team
- Contribute to a warm, supportive unit culture focused on teamwork and quality patient outcomes
