Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• At least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years of experience in a comprehensive stroke center setting
• Active RN license or compact license accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced ICU environment
• Ability to adapt to floating and support the nursing care team as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care for Neuro ICU patients with strokes, seizures, encephalopathy, and other complex neurological conditions
• Care for overflow ICU patients from medical-surgical and cardiovascular critical care units as needed
• Monitor and manage advanced critical care therapies, including ICP monitoring, EVDs, arterial lines, central lines, and ventilator support
• Assist with and recover patients following bedside procedures such as tracheostomy, G-tube, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, and other interventions
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, manage complex patient conditions, and respond quickly to changes in status
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent patient care
• Support a comprehensive stroke center environment focused on safety, efficiency, and positive patient outcomes
