• Additional Notes: Holiday coverage required; one pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• May consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment required
• Annual stroke continuing education requirement must be completed
• Strong experience working with patient ratios of approximately 1:4 to 1:6
• Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced emergency care environment
• References required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform triage, patient assessment, treatment, and ongoing monitoring for urgent and emergent conditions
• Support two locked behavioral health units within the ED, with security support available
• Care for patients in rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care needs
• Manage a broad range of emergency presentations, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, respiratory distress, and other acute conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including radiology, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and IV teams
• Float within the hospital within scope as needed to support facility needs
• Use Cerner, including FirstNet and Launch, for documentation and workflow
• Maintain safe, efficient care while working closely with a supportive emergency care team
