Experienced Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week Med/Surg Tele travel assignment in Knoxville, TN. Join a dynamic float pool team caring for adult acute care patients across multiple hospital units in East Tennessee.

Overview

This travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an adaptable Med/Surg Tele RN who enjoys variety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. You’ll float between Med/Surg, telemetry, SD/PCU, and possibly ICU based on clinical need and your skill set. The assignment includes an auto-offer process and structured orientation to help you get started with confidence.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750-$1,840
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Setting: Med/Surg Tele Float Pool
• Patient Population: Adult acute care patients
• Charting System: Cerner preferred
• Medication System: Omnicell
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• Orientation: Structured orientation provided
• Location: Knoxville, Tennessee — a lively East Tennessee city with strong community spirit and easy access to the outdoors

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact licensure in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required or obtainable after offer
• Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Cerner experience preferred
• Must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg, Telemetry, SD/PCU, and possibly ICU based on clinical need and skill set
• Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills in an acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult patients across multiple acute care units
• Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform routine Med/Surg nursing interventions
• Support patients with common acute care needs such as oxygen therapy, heparin therapy, insulin management, and post-operative recovery
• Float to assigned units based on clinical competency and staffing needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit workflows and safety standards
• Respond to rapid changes in patient status and assist with code or rapid response situations as needed
