Job Details

• Location: Clyde, North Carolina
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Unit: Behavioral Health / Psychiatry
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Weekend Requirement: As needed

• Orientation: Bi-weekly

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing or behavioral health nursing experience
• BLS certification
• ADN required
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric behavioral health patients preferred
• Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient psychiatric setting
• Prior experience in a psychiatric unit, inpatient mental health setting, or acute behavioral health environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a psychiatric and behavioral health environment
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Support patients with diagnoses such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safety, stability, and positive patient outcomes
• Administer treatments and interventions in accordance with unit protocols and facility standards
• Maintain a therapeutic, respectful, and secure environment for patients and staff
• Respond appropriately to behavioral changes, crisis situations, and escalating behaviors
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care that supports recovery and mental wellness
