Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 2+ years of acute care nursing experience required
- Previous neuro nursing or med-surg experience strongly preferred
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills required
- NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen experience preferred
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia test and math dosage test on day one of orientation
- Must complete required Pennsylvania background clearances before start
- Must be available to work holidays as scheduled
- Ability to float when needed, though float needs are rare
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside care to adult neuro med-surg patients
- Monitor and respond to patients admitted with CVA, TIA, seizure, and related medical-surgical diagnoses
- Perform ongoing assessments, medication administration, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to support safe patient outcomes
- Use EPIC and clinical monitoring equipment to document patient status and care interventions
- Maintain strong attention to dysrhythmia recognition and changes in clinical condition
- Support a professional, patient-centered environment on a high-acuity unit
