We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in Kealakekua, Hawaii, on the beautiful Big Island. Job Details

• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Kealakekua, Hawaii – Big Island
• Start Date: 08/13/2026
• End Date: 11/12/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
• Unit: Intensive Care / Coronary Care (ICU / CCU)
• Patient Population: Adult ICU with occasional stable pediatric patients
• Environment: 9-bed ICU with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with additional support as needed

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of ICU nursing or critical care nursing experience required
• Current RN license in good standing
• Current PALS certification required
• Pediatric nursing experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour day or night rotating shifts
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced ICU setting
• Comfortable supporting occasional med/surg overflow when needed
• Ability to work collaboratively with a minimum of three nurses per shift

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside care for ICU and CCU patients
• Monitor and manage patients in a 9-bed critical care environment
• Maintain safe staffing and patient assignments, typically 2 patients to 1 nurse unless 1:1 care is indicated
• Care for stable pediatric patients when they are assigned to the unit
• Assist with med/surg overflow patients when needed, within scope and unit guidelines
• Support charge nurse duties when assigned, with additional compensation provided for charge responsibilities
• Float to other departments to assist with non-assignment support as needed
• Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
