This 13-week travel nurse opportunity offers the chance to work in a well-equipped 38-bed ED with a supportive team, high-acuity patient care, and a dynamic mix of emergency medicine cases. Kansas City’s 64132 area offers the energy of a major metro with a welcoming Midwest feel, excellent dining, and easy access to city amenities.

- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680-$1,770
- Unit Highlights: 38-bed Emergency Department, Meditech EMR, vents, BiPAP, EKG, art lines, Belmont, and chest tubes
- Scheduling Notes: 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays minimum per 4-week schedule, plus 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and time management skills
- De-escalation experience; CPI preferred
- Patient-focused, detail-oriented, positive, and team-oriented approach
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-moving emergency care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Support emergency procedures and collaborate with the care team as needed
- Use strong communication and de-escalation skills to promote patient safety
- Maintain accurate charting and documentation in Meditech
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient patient flow
- Deliver compassionate care while adapting to the needs of a diverse patient population
