• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 07:30 - 20:00
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,850 - $1,950
• Setting: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Population: Pediatrics through geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience required
• Travel RN experience required
• Strong PACU and ICU experience preferred for first-time travelers
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS/NIH certification required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced post-anesthesia care environment with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Comfortable floating within the specialty as needed
• Flexible to work scheduled holidays and every other weekend
• Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality recovery care for post-operative patients in Phase I and Phase II PACU
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from orthopedic, neurology, cardiothoracic, vascular, general surgery, thoracic surgery, urology, and gynecology procedures
• Perform comprehensive assessments, pain management, and discharge preparation
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with strong clinical judgment
• Administer medications and monitor sedation, airway status, vital signs, and recovery progression
• Support pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients throughout the post-anesthesia recovery process
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent outcomes
• Float within the specialty area and assist as needed based on unit needs
• Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency
