PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Portland, Maine

Travel PACU RN Job Details

  • Hours: 36 hours per week; 48 hours preferred when available
  • Call / Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and call required

PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent PACU nursing experience
  • Prior travel nurse experience required
  • ICU experience required
  • Ability to read telemetry strips
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to float as needed to related perioperative care areas

PACU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality Phase I PACU care for pre-op and post-op patients
  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from cath, EP, TEE/cardioversion, vascular, robotic, TAVR, and pediatric procedures
  • Assess telemetry, hemodynamics, and cardiac drips while maintaining close patient observation
  • Support groin management, IV therapy, ECG interpretation, and post-procedure recovery needs
  • Care for patients using equipment such as IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, arterial lines, and telemetry monitoring
  • Collaborate with the perioperative and surgical team to deliver efficient, patient-centered recovery care
  • Float to PACU, IMC, or ICU as needed based on patient care demands
