- Scheduling Note: Full-time hours required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 1 year of experience in cardiac telemetry, progressive care (PCU), or ICU nursing
- Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Experience with post-cardiac procedural care, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op open heart care, and permanent pacemaker placements
- Experience titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced acute care environment
- Willingness to float based on demonstrated competency
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
- Administer and titrate IV medications safely and effectively
- Support post-procedural cardiac patients and assist with a variety of unit procedures
- Perform IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker support, and Foley insertions as needed
- Document care accurately using Meditech
- Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and PCTs to support smooth daily operations
- Deliver courteous, respectful, patient-centered care that aligns with patient experience goals
- Maintain a professional appearance in required navy blue scrubs
