Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery or a related perinatal specialty
• BLS certification (AHA)
• NRP certification
• ACLS certification (AHA)
• Current AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• BSN preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic clinical environment

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress throughout the shift
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Educate patients and families on care plans, learning needs, and available resources
• Collaborate with the care team to support high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced perinatal setting
