  • Position: Travel Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown
  • Location: Birmingham, Alabama 35243
  • Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,500 - $1,580
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4 in the stepdown unit
  • Start Date: September 8, 2026

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Stepdown, Telemetry, or similar acute care settings preferred
  • Ability to provide all required certifications at time of submission
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in an acute care hospital setting
  • Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and provider orders
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold unit workflow expectations
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio environment
