Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required
• Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required
• Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Strong communication, critical thinking, triage, and prioritization skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and reassessments in a fast-paced emergency department
• Support care for a wide range of conditions including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, and behavioral health cases
• Administer medications and treatments safely and efficiently
• Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Assist with IV starts, line management, blood product administration, and procedural support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, radiology, phlebotomy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all unit protocols
• Promote a safe, calm, and compassionate experience for patients and families
