• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 6, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Unit: Pre-op / PACU, Main Campus
• Setting: Community hospital with multiple operating rooms and a busy surgical services department
• Shift Coverage: Shifts may vary between 6:00 AM and 9:30 PM
• Call Requirement: Approximately 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period, based on staffing needs

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent PACU, recovery room, outpatient surgery, or perioperative nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to monitor patients safely through post-anesthesia recovery
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical care environment
• Ability to adapt to variable shift start times and on-call expectations
• Successful completion of required onboarding, screening, and credentialing items
• Experience caring for surgical patients across multiple specialties is highly valued

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative recovery
• Assess readiness for transfer, discharge, or continued recovery support
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members
• Support patients undergoing procedures across multiple specialties, including neuro, plastics, ENT, breast, general surgery, GYN, urology, orthopedics, vascular, and endoscopy
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality, safety, and patient-care standards
