- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour days
- Schedule: Typically 3 shifts per week, with day and night coverage needs noted for the unit
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
- Start Date: September 7, 2026
- Orientation: General orientation, EPIC training, and departmental orientation of 1-2 shifts
- Charting System: EPIC
- Medication System: PYXIS
- Unit Size: 20-bed medical-surgical unit
- Patient Ratio: 5:1
- Floating: May be required to other Medical Surgical units when needed
Job Requirements
- Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice
- Comfort working in an acute care hospital environment with a collaborative care team
- Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize effectively, and maintain excellent patient care standards
- Willingness to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and direct patient care to Med/Surg patients
- Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes in status, and communicate effectively with the care team
- Administer medications and support treatment plans using PYXIS and EPIC
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient care environment
- Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers as appropriate
- Deliver high-quality nursing care while maintaining professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
