• Shift: 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Shift Duration: 8-hour evenings
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; holiday rotation expected; no call
• Orientation: First week on days, followed by scheduled shifts
• Charting System: Cerner electronic medical record (EMR)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Maine
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
• Pediatric behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Experience with de-escalation techniques and physical restraints
• Comfortable administering medication passes and documenting patient care accurately
• Ability to facilitate or support group therapy activities
• Willingness to float between pediatric and adult psychiatric units as needed
• Open to working in a secure inpatient behavioral health environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric and adult psychiatric patients
• Support patients admitted voluntarily or involuntarily in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Perform medication administration, patient assessments, and routine nursing interventions
• Use strong de-escalation skills to help manage challenging patient behaviors
• Assist with physical restraints when clinically necessary and appropriate
• Participate in group-based therapeutic activities and patient engagement
• Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with psych techs, providers, and multidisciplinary support staff
• Float between units as needed to support patient care across the facility
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on patient safety and quality care
