Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Unit | Albuquerque, NM 87102

Join a fast-paced travel nursing opportunity in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where you’ll provide compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients on a well-supported 32-bed medical-surgical neuro unit. This 13-week Registered Nurse assignment offers a collaborative team environment, Epic charting, and the chance to work in Albuquerque’s vibrant downtown area.

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Medical-Surgical Neuro (Med/Surg Neuro)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Epic
• Setting: 32-bed inpatient acute care unit
• Floating: May float to like units within scope as needed
• Weekend Expectations: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Call: None

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a compact state; pending NM/compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg or comparable acute care nursing experience
• BLS and NIHSS required; CPI preferred
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting
• Comfort working in a high-acuity environment with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Ability to adapt quickly, collaborate with the care team, and provide flexible clinical support across like units
• First-time travelers are welcome

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg Neuro patients in an acute care setting
• Complete assessments, monitor patient status, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments according to the plan of care
• Support patients with common Med/Surg needs, including IV therapy, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, wound care, and feeding tube management
• Collaborate with rapid response teams and interdisciplinary support services to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Document nursing care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Float to like units when needed while maintaining patient safety and quality of care
