Job Details

• Contract Length: 16 weeks, with potential to extend up to 20 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: 3x12 night schedule with a 36/48-hour option; every other weekend required
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,110
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Setting: Busy community hospital Emergency Department
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Volume: Approximately 130 visits per day

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred; 1 year may be considered with strong ER background
• Previous community hospital experience required
• Ability to care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Strong experience with fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care
• Comfortable floating within specialty and working rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a busy Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and acuity levels
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Perform emergency interventions and support procedures such as IV starts, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Care for patients with respiratory distress, stroke symptoms, trauma, behavioral health needs, and other acute conditions
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support efficient patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards for patient safety and quality care
• Adapt to a fast-moving environment while providing compassionate, patient-centered care
