Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse - ICU
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week, with an option for 48 hours
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 - $1,700
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Healthcare Setting: Adult ICU with the possibility of floating to related units as needed
- Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending New Mexico or compact license accepted prior to start
- At least 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical care skills and comfort caring for adult patients with complex needs
- Ability to work weekends as scheduled
- Willingness to float to like units such as MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU when needed
- Ability to complete onboarding and compliance requirements promptly
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced intensive care unit
- Monitor and manage ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, cardiac drips, and continuous IV sedation
- Perform arterial line management, central line care, IV starts and maintenance, and blood product administration
- Assess neurological, cardiac, and respiratory status and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Support ICU procedures and therapies including chest tube care, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2 while delivering attentive, patient-centered care
