Travel Registered Nurse opportunity in Baltimore, Maryland for an experienced Pediatric Stepdown RN. This role is located in Baltimore, MD 21209, a vibrant area known for its welcoming neighborhoods, access to parks, and a variety of local dining and cultural attractions. Join a mixed pediatric rehab environment caring for adolescents and children with complex respiratory, neurologic, and post-surgical needs.
Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960 - $2,060
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Orientation: 32 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: As scheduled
- Unit Type: Mixed pediatric stepdown / rehab environment
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21209
Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
- Experience in pediatric stepdown, pediatric med-surg, rehab nursing, or pediatric acute care preferred
- Strong tracheostomy and ventilator management experience required
- BLS certification required
- CPI certification required
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to care for pediatric and adolescent patients with complex medical needs
- Comfortable floating within specialty areas as needed
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric and adolescent stepdown patients
- Manage tracheostomy care, ventilator support, suctioning, and oxygen delivery systems
- Administer medications, perform assessments, and monitor patient status closely
- Support patients with complex diagnoses such as TBI, spinal cord injury, burns, feeding disorders, CP, and post-orthopedic recovery
- Perform line care, feeding tube management, wound care, and infection prevention measures
- Collaborate with PT, OT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Maintain accurate charting and deliver safe care within a 1:4 patient ratio
- Adapt to changing patient needs while contributing to a positive, team-oriented care environment
