Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing experience
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Strong IV skills preferred
- Ability to support a broad patient population, including pediatric through geriatric patients
- Comfort working in a collaborative surgical care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall recovery progress
- Assess patients for readiness for discharge or transfer to the next level of care
- Communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative teams
- Support pre-op admissions and assist with patient flow as needed
- Float to related surgical areas or support units when patient volume requires additional help
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Deliver high-quality nursing care while promoting a positive patient experience
