Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Richmond, VA | Night Shift

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room (ER)
• Location: Richmond, VA 23226
• Start Date: 8/31/2026
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
• Unit Size: 30 beds plus 14 Fast Track beds, with additional hallway beds as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Experience with conscious sedation required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• CPI / de-escalation training required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG exam during orientation
• Experience caring for patients across the lifespan in a high-acuity clinical setting
• Copy of nursing diploma required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced emergency care environment
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, triage patients, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and nursing practice
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary support staff to coordinate patient care
• Support patients and families through urgent and emergent health situations with strong communication and clinical judgment
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and participate in stabilization and resuscitation efforts
• Maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-stress emergency department setting
• Promote patient safety, quality care, and efficient patient flow throughout the Emergency Department
