Job Requirements
- Active New Mexico RN license or current compact state RN license
- BLS certification required
- CPI certification or equivalent required; Blue Card preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and the care team
- Comfort providing care for behavioral health or psychiatric patient populations
Responsibilities
- Perform initial psychiatric nursing assessments and establish patient care priorities based on symptoms, age, and psychosocial needs
- Reassess patients systematically and respond to changes in condition or trends that require intervention
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Provide timely nursing interventions and document care accurately
- Participate in patient and family education, as well as discharge planning
- Complete point-of-care testing procedures as needed
- Deliver respectful, patient-centered care while supporting a safe and therapeutic behavioral health environment
