- Location: Corpus Christi, TX 78412
- Healthcare Setting: Busy emergency department with low- and high-acuity patients
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 1 year of emergency department nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level II or Level III trauma experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC or PALS certifications
- CEN, TCRN, and CPI certifications preferred
- Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, team-oriented approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital emergency department and managing multiple priorities
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective ER nursing care to patients of varying acuity in the emergency department
- Perform assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV starts, urine collection, and lab draws
- Care for patients ranging from ESI 5 through ESI 1
- Support timely response and treatment for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma cases
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, triage staff, and support personnel to maintain smooth patient flow
- Participate in shift huddles and follow unit guidelines and EMTALA requirements
- Contribute to a positive team culture built on urgency, accountability, and excellent patient outcomes
