Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Contract in Upper Marlboro, MD

• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Floating: Required within scope across ED borders, Med/Surg Tele, and IMC units
• Holidays: Required as scheduled

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, IMC, or ED border environments preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume acute care environment
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients
• Flexible, team-oriented, and willing to float within specialty and scope

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry and border patients
• Monitor telemetry and interpret rhythm changes as needed
• Care for patients with complex medical, post-acute, and step-down needs
• Manage IVs, central lines, ports, and other common inpatient therapies
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, respiratory support, and cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Respond appropriately in a busy acute care setting with changing patient needs
• Float between ED border, Med/Surg Telemetry, and IMC areas as assigned
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow unit protocols
• Promote a calm, organized, and compassionate patient experience
