Join a patient-focused Med/Surg Tele travel nursing team in Athens, Texas. This 11-week assignment offers a supportive, community-based acute care environment where you’ll care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a busy inpatient med/surg telemetry unit.

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or acute care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Comfortable managing a patient ratio of 1:5 in a med/surg telemetry setting
• Strong clinical skills in telemetry nursing and progressive care support
• Ability to start and maintain IVs and support common medical-surgical patient needs

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support blood product administration as needed
• Perform focused assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop effective patient care plans
• Support patients with respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical needs
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain clear communication with the healthcare team
• Respond appropriately to rapid changes in condition and assist with escalation of care when necessary
• Deliver high-quality nursing care while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and dignity
