• Daily Census: Approximately 34 patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in WV or a Compact state; pending license accepted for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience required
• At least 1 year of experience in MS/Tele and 2 years of stepdown or progressive care experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Strong clinical background in cardiac telemetry, progressive care, or med surg tele nursing
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility; 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, telemetry data, and changes in patient status
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
• Manage IVs, central lines, and other supportive therapies as needed
• Support patients receiving cardiac drips and other medical management protocols per unit guidelines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response resources
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown environment
