• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; floating may be required within scope

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license or license in process with an expected timeline for approval before start
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Strong skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to follow isolation precautions and maintain safe, high-quality patient care
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a variety of acute and complex diagnoses
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and carry out physician orders accurately and efficiently
• Manage IV therapy needs including peripheral lines, PICC lines, blood products, and related treatments
• Support procedures such as NG insertion, tube feedings, TPN administration, and heparin infusions
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and participate in rapid response or code support as needed
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while helping maintain a smooth workflow on the unit
