Job Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or compact/multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor & Delivery/LDRP
• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current NRP certification
• Current STABLE certification
• Current AWHONN certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a women's health setting

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care including assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient outcomes
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform other ordered clinical treatments
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status to physicians, patients, and families as appropriate
• Support patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, transfers, discharges, referrals, and supportive needs
• Educate patients and families based on age, condition, culture, and learning needs
• Assist with C-sections, attend deliveries, and support physicians during labor and birth
• Provide care during recovery and for surgical patients following appropriate policies and procedures
• Attend to the neonatal station in the C-section suite and perform complete newborn assessments after delivery
• Help identify and escalate important clinical information to physicians and the care team
