Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification/validation
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips before arrival
• Strong neuro assessment skills and comfort with stroke patient care
• Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and patient safety focus

Responsibilities

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Provide safe medication administration using BCMA standards
• Support stroke core measures such as dysphagia screening, education, and care planning
• Collaborate with providers, therapy, and case management to coordinate patient care
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Maintain a strong focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety
