Job Details
- Setting: Adult acute care inpatient float pool
- Specialty: Med/Surg Tele Float, Telemetry Nurse, Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Location: Knoxville, TN 37916
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Day shift, 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Charting System: Cerner preferred
- Medication System: Omnicell
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS required or obtainable after offer
- Ability to pass EKG testing before start date
- Comfortable floating to MS/Tele, SD/PCU, and potentially ICU based on skill set and unit need
- Strong clinical adaptability and confidence working with adult patient populations
- Cerner experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients across multiple inpatient units
- Serve as the primary nurse for assigned patients in a fast-paced float pool environment
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and carry out physician orders accurately and efficiently
- Support post-surgical, cardiology, nephrology, neuroscience, pulmonary, oncology, and short-stay patient populations as needed
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established unit and floating protocols
- Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity, census, and unit assignments
