• Assignment Length: 16 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Call Requirement: Up to 2 call shifts per 6 weeks
• Unit Setting: Mother/Baby unit with couplet care and support for transitioning newborns

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Prior experience in OB, postpartum, mother/baby, women’s health, or labor and delivery strongly preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care for postpartum mothers, newborns, and couplets
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical nursing environment with rotating priorities

Responsibilities

• Provide direct postpartum nursing care and Mother/Baby care to mothers and newborns
• Support couplet care and assist with transitioning newborns after delivery
• Attend deliveries and participate in newborn stabilization as needed
• Care for stable infants and float to the special care nursery for grower/feeders without respiratory support, as needed
• Monitor patient and newborn status, document assessments, and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Educate families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to maintain safe staffing, patient flow, and excellent outcomes
• Maintain a compassionate, supportive approach for mothers, newborns, and families throughout the postpartum journey
