Job Details
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Durham, NC 27704
- Start Date: 09/08/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation with 36 hours of onboarding
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in hand, with an active NC or Compact license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong clinical background in emergency nursing, acute care, or high-acuity hospital settings
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department
- Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Previous supervisory reference within the last year required
- Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Perform triage, patient assessment, and ongoing reassessment in a busy Emergency Department
- Administer treatments, medications, and interventions according to emergency care protocols
- Monitor and support patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and behavioral health needs
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Respond to changing patient conditions and prioritize care in a high-acuity environment
- Support safe patient flow across a diverse emergency department population
