Job Details

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
  • Location: Durham, NC 27704
  • Start Date: 09/08/2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation with 36 hours of onboarding

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in hand, with an active NC or Compact license at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Strong clinical background in emergency nursing, acute care, or high-acuity hospital settings
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department
  • Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Previous supervisory reference within the last year required
  • Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
  • Perform triage, patient assessment, and ongoing reassessment in a busy Emergency Department
  • Administer treatments, medications, and interventions according to emergency care protocols
  • Monitor and support patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and behavioral health needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
  • Respond to changing patient conditions and prioritize care in a high-acuity environment
  • Support safe patient flow across a diverse emergency department population
