Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• BLS certification required
• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program required; bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required; behavioral health, geriatric psychiatry, or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced behavioral health environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on a geropsychiatric unit
• Assess, monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition
• Perform mental and physical assessments, maintain accurate patient histories, and complete timely documentation
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and patient needs
• Support patients with daily activities and observe responses to interventions
• Facilitate therapeutic milieu activities, including groups and individual 1:1 interactions
• Collaborate with physicians, the multidisciplinary care team, and outside community resources
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized treatment and discharge plans
• Help ensure quality care by following therapeutic standards and regulatory guidelines
