Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active New York State RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification from AHA or RQI
• NIHSS certification
• At least 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts and support on-call coverage as scheduled
• Experience caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients in an acute care setting
• Assess patient and family needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and adjust care plans as needed
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions with accuracy and professionalism
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self-care, lifestyle changes, and discharge preparation
• Promote patient safety, dignity, and rights while maintaining infection prevention practices
• Document assessments, interventions, education, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately
• Support a healing environment through effective communication, teamwork, and compassionate care
