Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Orthopedic & Joint Replacement Night Shift Contract in Easton, MD

• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,870 - $1,970
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty and as needed to lower-acuity areas and sister facilities
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at the time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Registered Nurse experience required
• Strong orthopedic nursing or joint replacement experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience caring for a patient ratio of 1:6 preferred
• Comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to float within scope as needed
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients with orthopedic and joint replacement needs
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition throughout the shift
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and support recovery plans
• Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and other support teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, preferably Epic
• Support patient education and discharge planning
• Manage common Med/Surg interventions and equipment as needed
• Float within specialty or to other approved areas based on unit needs
• Promote a positive patient experience through compassionate, attentive care
